School Trip

A day out at Glenroe Farm!

Junior and Senior Infants had a wonderful day for their school tour to Glenroe farm. From the double decker bus to feeding goats it was fun from start to finish!

We started off the day bright and early by travelling on the bus to Wicklow. We had lots of fun on the bus singing songs, playing I-Spy and watching the countryside around us.

When we arrived at the farm we had a quick snack with our friends and then we were ready to see the animals!

We were so excited to explore the farm and get to pet and feed all the different animals.

We saw goats, sheep, pigs, guinea pigs, rabbits, horses, alpacas and lots more!

After a lot of fun with the animals it was time to enjoy the playground!

We had a fantastic day and were so lucky to have beautiful weather all day too.

We are already looking forward to next years school tour!

2nd Class Hurling Blitz

This week 2nd class participated in a hurling blitz in St. Kevin’s GAA club. The blitz was organised by club GPO Jenny who visits our school every Tuesday. All local schools took part and there were some local derbies between our school and near neighbours Griffith Barracks MDNS and Harold’s Cross ETNS. Well done to all the children and staff who made this a very enjoyable day for everyone. Maith sibh!

Signs of Spring!

1st Class took a walk to nearby Belgrave Square where we looked for signs of Spring. We found insects, bird nests, daffodils, buds and lots more. Then we had so much fun in the sunny playground – possibly the best sign of Spring of all!

School Tour to Edinburgh Zoo 2020

We wrapped up this incredible school year with a Virtual School Tour to Edinburgh Zoo. After a quick ‘sing song on the bus’, the children took over as the Zookeepers while we looked at the animals on their webcams.  They had all researched a fact or two about the animals of Edinburgh Zoo and amazed us all with their knowledge – one stand out fact being that tiger’s pee smells like buttered popcorn!!!

Well done girls and boys, as always you blew us away with your creativity and enthusiasm!
